Flyer printing
The flyer is one of the most widespread types of printed product. Among all paper products, flyers rank first in the number of subtypes and categories, but despite such diversity they all fall into two groups: informational and image. The former are direct carriers of useful information, while the latter stand out for their bright and attractive appearance.
Types of flyers
The rich variety of flyers has made them popular in every field of activity, from the entertainment industry to purely business relations. Besides their appearance, they differ in the amount of text printed on them. Informational types contain significantly more text.
Advertising flyers. In contrast to the amount of text, they surpass their informational counterpart in the number of types. An accompanying flyer is a simple addition to goods or services. It may briefly state a product description or some of its characteristics. In most cases, it states the address of the company (or person) where the product can be purchased.
The flyer, the Euro-flyer – a type of «flying leaflet» that can be encountered on the streets of large metropolises and smaller cities alike. In turn, it is used in two cases. In the first case, the flyer describes a themed party or event at a club or another venue. Most often it also serves as a ticket to the party. In the other case, it advertises a particular product or type of service. Here the flyer can serve as a discount or a coupon offering a one-time discount.
Self-adhesive flyers. This is a new type in printing. The booklet also belongs to a certain type of flyer. Its difference lies in its shape. A standard-sized product is folded in an unusual way. The information can be obtained by unfolding it. The leaflet is a kind of booklet that follows the European standard. It is used when flyers need to be sent by mail, as it fits into an envelope.
Informational flyers. Most often they provide supporting information and combine a reminder note about a company or person. There is an informational type of notice intended for a specific circle of people. Such flyers move into the VIP category. A reminder flyer is needed to indicate the exact location of a shop, company, and so on.
The flyer production process
Flyer printing in Kyiv is carried out using modern equipment that meets all the requirements for high-quality printing. As with the production of any printed product, the manufacture of flyers is carried out in several stages. The most important of these is choosing a particular design.
The design must be developed so that, with a minimal amount of text on the flyer, the consumer looking at it understands what is being offered. Accordingly, the appearance must encourage the potential buyer to purchase not the flyer but the specific product.
Once the layout of the future product has been decided, the technological process begins, which includes typesetting, printing and post-press work.
A particular feature of flyer production lies in the colour scheme. For urgent orders, two basic tones are used – black and white. Most often, orders come in for full-colour double-sided printing, which professionals designate as 4+4. Four basic colours are used, which is characteristic of the offset printing method.
If a small quantity of full-colour print runs needs to be produced in a short time, digital printing is recommended.
The choice of paper for production is wide. Coated paper with a glossy or matte surface is usually used. The standard paper formats are A4, A6 and A5, less often A3. A5 flyer printing is considered the most in demand.
